Mount Pleasant, SC – April 30, 2003 – Andrea Wozniak has been named chief executive officer for East Cooper Regional Medical Center in Mount Pleasant, S.C. In her role, she will oversee operations for the 100-bed acute care facility. Wozniak will be transitioning into her new role and will be officially starting on May 15, 2003
Wozniak has nearly 40 years experience in health care. Most recently, she served as chief operating officer of Atlanta Medical Center, a 467-bed acute care facility located in Atlanta, Ga. She was chief operating officer and chief nursing officer for Hilton Head Medical Center in Hilton Head, S.C. She served as vice president of patient care for Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, N.M. and vice president of operations at Orlando General Hospital in Orlando, Fla. Her experience includes 15 years of direct patient care.
“Andrea brings with her a great deal of valuable health care experience,” said Gregory H. Burfitt, senior vice president of operations for Tenet HealthSystem’s Southern States Region. “She has made numerous contributions including serving as champion for Atlanta Medical Center’s (AMC) Target 100 patient satisfaction initiative and spearheading an extensive emergency department renovation. Her leadership and guidance to the managers and directors at AMC have been outstanding. Those skills along with her clinical background make her an excellent choice to lead East Cooper.”
Wozniak received her nursing diploma from Presbyterian University Hospital in Pittsburgh, Penn. She received a bachelor of science in nursing degree from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Fla., where she graduated summa cum laude. Wozniak also holds a master’s degree in business administration from Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Fla.
