On September 14, employees of East Cooper Regional Medical Center participated in the 5th annual Day of Caring, sponsored by Trident United Way. The volunteers spent the day painting and landscaping "Granny's Place" at South Santee Community Center in McClellanville.

The South Santee Community Center is a nonprofit organization that provides support to elderly residents and enables the elderly to maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life.

In the last two years, more than 7,500 volunteers have participated in Trident United Way's annual Day of Caring, working on more than 400 projects.
