Mt. Pleasant, SC. – East Cooper Regional Medical Center, through the Tenet Healthcare Foundation, has awarded college scholarships to two local students who are children of East Cooper Regional Medical Center employees.

Courtney Hunt is the daughter of Melanie Cason, RN. Courtney graduated from Wando High School where she was an honor student, a member of the National Honor Society, a Charleston County Board Scholar, a Winthrop Alumni Scholar and a recipient of the Palmetto Fellows Award. She will be attending Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC.

Rebecca Annand is the daughter of Diane Annand, RN. Rebecca attended The South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities in Greenville, SC, where she graduated with honors and was a member of CATS (Connecting Arts Through Service Club). She will be attending Temple University/Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, PA.

“With the rising costs of higher education, Tenet is pleased to offer this financial assistance to our employees and their children. It’s an excellent investment not only for our company but for the workforce of the future,” said Barbara Luton, executive director of the Tenet Healthcare Foundation.

“East Cooper Regional Medical Center is extremely proud of the winners and their parents,” said Andrea Wozniak, CEO, East Cooper Regional Medical Center.
