Mt. Pleasant, S.C. (May 19, 2009) – Recently, the South Carolina Society of Radiologic Technologists (S.C.S.R.T.) recognized East Cooper Regional Medical Center Radiology Technician, Jim Graham, for his scientific exhibit at S.C.S.R.T.’s annual meeting, held in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Jim, who has served as a radiological technologist at East Cooper Regional Medical Center for five years, has been awarded first place for his exhibits five times. This year, Jim’s exhibit entitled “Are you Hot or Not?” presented reasons, causes and consequences of radiation exposure.
“I work in an exciting and ever changing field, where the comprehensive understanding of new technologies and techniques is so important,” explains Jim, “My exhibit illustrates why legislation has made it mandatory that only registered technologists, who have been specifically trained to do this job, are allowed to expose patients.”
Founded 63 years ago, S.C.S.R.T. is a state society that provides support and opportunity for medical professionals, as well as enhances the profession’s image and reputation in the imaging fields.
