Emergency Room Facility & Doctors of ECMC | Charleston

East Cooper Medical Center's Emergency Room (ER), serving patients in Mount Pleasant and Charleston, is conveniently located east of The Cooper, just off I-526. J

ust outside our Mount Pleasant and Charleston ER doors is a helicopter landing pad, providing easy access to our Level III Trauma Certified Emergency Department and Advanced Primary Stroke Center. Our modern facility, designed to provide welcoming, Lowcountry hospitality, offers a very different experience than the traditional ER. You'll notice it in the decor, but more importantly, in the warmth and expertise of our emergency medical team.

Many ERs are staffed by emergency medicine doctors, a medial specialty in which doctors are trained to treat emergencies such as chest pains, broken bones, lacerations and trauma. Some ERs or urgent care facilities are staffed by family doctors, general surgeons and other non-emergency doctors. With all of the options available to you for care, it is important to do your research before an emergency happens. You'll want to know which emergency rooms or urgent care facilities are staffed by emergency doctors who are board-certified, which facilities are prepared to treat trauma or stroke patients and which facilities provide 24-hour coverage.

You can be confident East Cooper Medical Center's ER is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week by board-certified emergency physicians. Our specialists treat pediatric to geriatric patients - all with experience and knowledge you can trust, and our designation by The Joint Commission as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center offers assurance we'll be ready to provide the right care at the right time.
