Meet a Few of Our Heroes at East Cooper Medical Center

You may have heard that crisis doesn’t make or break you, it reveals you. When COVID-19 appeared on the horizon, our teams were ready. We always knew that the doctors, nurses and staff at East Cooper Medical Center came to work with compassion, support and expertise. What we’ve seen in the last few months is a true revealing of what it means to have a calling to the medical profession. Every day, we see tireless and selfless giving of care. We see sacrifice and perseverance to fight a ferocious enemy. And we see compassion and gratitude for the beauty in every victory.

Thank you to our team that makes us A Community Built on Care. We’re honored to share just a few of the stories of men and women who are making a positive difference.

What Our Patients Are Saying

Every day, we have opportunities to see patients improve their quality of life. And it’s also gratifying to see what patients have to say about their experience with us. Below are some of the comments from Patient Satisfaction Surveys. Thank you for your support for our Community Built on Care.

Comments are gathered from our Patient Satisfaction Survey and displayed in their entirety. Patients are de-identified for confidentiality and patient privacy.

It was very clean. The staff washed their hands when they came in and out of the room. It was the beginning of virus scare so they put me in a room away from everyone. They also introduced themselves, but we did not shake hands.

I was extremely pleased with the nurse and doctor. They put me at ease and immediately started action to isolate the cause for my pain.

Radiologist was timely and friendly. I actually knew him from previous visits with my mother, and he recognized me and asked about her. It is so nice to have that added personal touch. I was immediately put at ease.

The nurse was professional and personable. She was easy to talk with and understood I was apprehensive. She also made sure I was comfortable and she kept me informed of process.

Nursing staff was extremely pleasant, comforting, concerned and professional.

Meredith was the best nurse ever! Her level of care was extraordinary! I couldn't stop shaking for a couple hours because I was so cold, and she continued to bring warm blankets and tucked me in. She was compassionate when I could not have my husband in the ER with me. She made the lack of a loved one so much easier.

The staff was very professional and listened. They were all positive, pleasant and efficient.

I had excellent care throughout my stay at East Cooper, and the nurses were especially attentive and helpful. Olga was extraordinary, but all of the nurses that took care of me were very compassionate and attentive.
