East Cooper Medical Center Appoints New Governing Board Chair

Mount Pleasant, SC – April 2, 2019 – East Cooper Medical Center is pleased to announce John Dodds, III has accepted appointment as the hospital’s new Governing Board Chair.

John Dodds III“John has been an actively involved member of the East Cooper Medical Center Governing Board since 2014,” shared Patrick Downes, chief executive officer of East Cooper Medical Center. “His family is part of the reason our hospital was created and we are very excited about his continued commitment to the mission and vision of East Cooper Medical Center.”

“I am very humbled to be the Chairman of the Governing Board,” said Dodds. “It’s a real privilege for me as my father was the first Governing Board Chair for East Cooper Medical Center. It’s really come full circle.”

The responsibilities of the East Cooper Medical Center Governing Board include recommending hospital policy, promoting patient safety, performance improvement and quality patient care in addition to participating in planning for the hospital. The Governing Board has ultimate responsibility and authority for safety and quality of care, treatment and services render in the hospital.

Dodds is a practicing attorney with The Law Firm of Cisa & Dodds, LLP. He and his wife Deborah live in Mt. Pleasant and have three adult children.
