We are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience. To do so, we are actively working with consultants to update the website by increasing its accessibility and usability by persons who use assistive technologies
such as automated tools, keyboard-only navigation, and screen readers.
We are working to have the website conform to the relevant standards of the Section 508 Web Accessibility Standards developed by the United States Access Board, as
well as the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1. These standards and guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities. We believe that conformance with these standards and
guidelines will help make the website more user friendly for all people.
Our efforts are ongoing. While we strive to have the website adhere to these guidelines and standards, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website.
If, at any time, you have specific questions or concerns about the accessibility of any particular webpage, please contact WebsiteAccess@tenethealth.com so that we may be of assistance.
East Cooper's Cleft Lip and Palate Interdisciplinary Team treats the visible and invisible effects of this disorder. Starting with prenatal support, we provide services that can help improve hearing, breathing, speech and language development—and self-esteem, for a healthier life and a happier childhood.
Every child deserves the ability to speak, eat, smile and live like any other kid. Cleft lip and cleft palate—disorders in which a baby’s lips and mouth didn’t properly form before birth—can interfere with that in significant, or sometimes devastating, ways.
Treating cleft lip and palate takes more than just plastic surgery. It takes a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to improve your child’s quality of life. Our team brings together expertise in speech therapy, social work, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, ENT, pediatric dentistry, plastic surgery and reconstruction, and maxillofacial prosthodontics to address multiple aspects of your child’s needs.
The Cleft Palate Interdisciplinary team provides care guidance for access to comprehensive evaluation and services, including:
Cleft lip and palate repair
Surgery for complex facial disorders and bone disorders
Treatment for disorders of the soft palate and nasal cavity
Dental and orthodontic treatment
Speech and swallow therapy
The Cleft Lip and Palate Program is dedicated to supporting the parent and family throughout the evaluation and treatment process. Our aim is to help you navigate access to the services you need. Most insurances are accepted.
