Preparing for Surgery

Thank you for choosing East Cooper Medical Center for your Surgical Procedure. Your surgical process begins the moment you learn surgery is necessary and your surgery is scheduled with the hospital. Our team will guide you through your preparation for surgery in the days and weeks prior to your arrival at the hospital.

After your surgery is scheduled, you will be contacted by the Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) Clinic. If you have any medical problems (mild hypertension, diabetes, etc.) an appointment will be scheduled for you to visit the PAT Clinic. If you have no medical problems, require no testing before surgery, or have been adequately evaluated by outside physicians, your Pre-Assessment may be done over the phone.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding your upcoming surgery, please give us a call at (843) 416-6180. If you need assistance after 4:00pm, please call (843) 416-6249.
