Unit Features

East Cooper Medical Center’s new Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit features a modern Low Country design with spacious, private rooms. Our state of the art therapy spaces are out¬fitted with specialized equipment that support best practice guidelines and highly trained staff to support each patient’s journey within rehabilitation therapy.

  • Ten spacious patient rooms with private toilet/shower
  • Rehab Gym will include some of the most modern therapy equipment available
  • Speech Therapy Room is a private room that has been engineered to reduce ambient sound
  • Dining and Rec Space to encourage interaction and patient independence
  • ADL bedroom/kitchen are two connected spaces that simulate the home environment

  • The unit is designed for individuals that need intensive rehabilitation services along with specialized rehabilitative medical and nursing care.
  • We offer a full team of rehab focused clinicians including physicians, rehab registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, social work and case managers, as well as other ancillary support.
  • Patients will work with a multi-disciplinary team of specialists and will receive a minimum of three hours of therapy, five days per week.
  • We provide a specialized level of rehabilitation nursing care and require more frequent physician contact with patients.
