Dry Needling

Dry Needling is a valuable intervention used in conjunction with a comprehensive therapeutic program. It is performed by a certified, skilled physical therapist for the treatment of muscular conditions that affect normal function. It can assist with decreasing pain, stiffness, and improving muscle performance.

Dry Needling is performed using a fine, flexible, and sterile needle. It is inserted into a pathologic muscle to release shortened bands of fiber, known as trigger points. It releases these bands by disrupting the overactive neurological input into those fibers. Most patients experience an immediate improvement in mobility. Most common diagnoses that benefit from Dry Needling intervention are as follows:

  • Migraines/Headaches
  • Stiff Neck
  • Shoulder Pain
  • Tennis/Golfers Elbow
  • LBP/Sciatica
  • IT Band Syndrome
  • Plantar Fasciitis
